1922 – 2018

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Reta Foss of Springdale announce her passing on Monday, March 26, 2018 at the Green Bay Health Care Centre, Springdale, NL. Reta was born in Little Bay Islands on August 21, 1922, to Walter and Nellie Oxford. She was one of 5 children. She married Stephen Foss on November 12, 1940. She is predeceased by her husband Stephen Foss, daughter Velma, parents Walter/Nellie Oxford, in-laws Archibald and Bessie Foss, brother George Oxford, sisters Hazel Penney, Daisy, grandchildren Craig and Elizabeth Blackler, son-in-law George Anstey, brothers-in-law Ford Dove, Jim Penney, George Garron and sister-in-law Ida Garron. She leaves to mourn her daughters Sheila, Molly Anstey (George deceased), Golda Banks (Gordon), all of Springdale, Mildred (Wallace) Noble of Nippers Harbour; sons Bernard (Ellen), Garland (Grace), Wilfred (Madeline), Wallace (Grace) all of Springdale, Malcolm (Jeanette) of Toronto, sister Norma Dove and sister-in-law Myrtle Oxford. She has 26 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren 4 great great grandchildren. Also she leaves behind many nephews, and nieces and friends. Reta was a member to The Salvation Army Springdale Corps. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.
