April 24, 1920 – September 30, 2017

Passed peacefully away at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre Evelyn Healey (Brinson) at the age of 97 years. Predeceased by her husband – Patrick (1986) and son – Daniel (2011): parents (Frederick and Drucilla), brothers (Morley and Eric) and sisters (Gertie, Joyce and Violet).
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are sons: Bernard (Bernie), David (Joan), Eric (Phyllis), Randy, Richard (Trudy) and daughters: Vera (Joe Bouzanne), Sandra, Corrine (Neil Byrne), sister Mildred (Steve Steeves) and brother Francis (Joan). Also left to mourn are her pride and joy 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren in addition to a large number of family and friends.
Evelyn came to Grand Falls in 1942 where she was employed at the Grand Falls House. She then married Patrick in 1946. Together they raised a family of 9 children, everyday demonstrating her strengths and her love. Apart from her family, her favorite things in life included her flower garden, good game of cards, knitting, and berry picking. She was best known for her jam and homemade bread. She was an active member of the legion ladies auxiliary for years. Apart from all these things she was happiest when she was surrounded by her family.
Celebration of her life to take place at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Parish on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Central Funeral Homes.
Thanks are extended to Dr. Ravi, Dr. Sheridan, staff of 3A and 3B, Kim, Glenda and Doreen, her workers. To her great neighbors – Marguerite, Hilda and Ray. Special thanks to Nurse Kelly Hennifent who treated Mom with the greatest tenderness and respect in her final moments.
