Obituary for Ruby Viola Quilliam (Ivany)

Ruby Viola Quilliam (Ivany)
RUBY VIOLA QUILLIAM
April 17, 1923 - October 23, 2017

It is with deep, heartfelt sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Ruby Quilliam (Ivany) at the Carmelite House, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL on October 23 at the age of 94.

Predeceased by husband, Thomas Quilliam in 2011, infant daughter Mary, parents Herbert and Naomi (Vaters) Ivany, sisters Dorothy, Molly, and Yvonne, brothers Colin, Fred, and Howard, and son-in-law David Porter.

Left with beautiful memories are her children Brenda Balsom (Onnie), Thomas (Tammy), Susan Morrison (Greg), Colin (Joanne), Pam Porter, and Jill Oldford (Harvey), 9 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. Also leaving to mourn are her brother Munden (Pauline) and sister Joan.

Mom was an angel on earth, she always had a smile and a heart of gold. Kind and giving towards everyone she met. We will cherish all of the precious memories and miss her so much.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Carmelite for the years of love and care given to Mom.

"Miss Me, But Let Me Go"

When I come to the end of the road,
And the sun has set for me,
I want no tears in a gloom-filled room,
Why cry for a soul set free?

Miss me a little, but not for too long,
And not with head bowed low,
Remember the love we all shared,
Miss me - but let me go.

For this is a journey we all must take,
And each must go alone,
It's all part of the Master's plan,
A step on the road to home.

When you are lonely and sick of heart,
See family and friends we know,
Take time to heal, tho' we must part,
Miss me - but let me go...
