Condolence: Scott and Family my heart breaks for you. Ruby was one of the best. I'm sure every kid that ever walked into her store came out with something for free. I don't think she ever told a child that they didn't have enough money to get what they wanted. Everyone loved her.She always greeted you with a smile and made everyone feel special. She was a good friend of my Mom and Dad and we all spent many a weekend at the cabin years ago. Ruby was always cheerful and funny... A real good sport and nice person to be around. I remember distinctly one sunny winter day outside the cabin while enjoying an open fire when no one was really saying much.... Ruby decided to break the silence with song..... "When the moon hits your eye like a biga pizza pie, that's amoree". Scott couldn't resist but to chime in! That's one of my fondest memories of Ruby. I will cherish it. Gone but not forgotten... Condolence: We were heartbroken to hear of Ruby's passing. She was so kind and loving to us and my kids when we lived just across from her in Roberts Arm. She loved to see the kids come into the store. She would take them behind the counter and sneak them candies. Condolence: Words cannot express how we feel about the passing of our wonderful and loving sister-in-law. Coming home and visiting Auntie Ruby in her store was part of my daughters excitement and a highlight of her trip home to Newfoundland. Ruby has left a legacy for all of the brother and sisters children on how they were treated when they came to the store. As for us; we will miss her smile, her laugh, the many stories shared, the excitement and warm welcome when we came home and the big hugs when we said good-bye. We will cherish all of our memories of Ruby. She never made it to her new house or retirement on earth but there is comfort knowing she now has all of heaven to explore, enjoy and retire in, with no more pain. Condolence: Daphne, Mom and I were saddened to hear of Ruby's passing and send condolences to the family. We met Ruby when she was in the hospital room with mom at Grand Falls; her kindness and concern for others was evident as she looked out to mother when she had difficulty. Although, very ill herself, she focused on those with trouble around her; a lovely lady whom we were fortunate to meet.
