Condolences

Condolence From: Doreen (Hollett) Canning
Condolence: Donna, Debbie, Diane, Darlene and Families: The ‘first’ special occasions after the passing of a loved one stir your hearts to reflect upon the physical absense of Aunt Vera. I want to assure you today that “She is absent from the body but present with the Lord” and her precious Uncle Ray and others. Time is fleeting but your family has a lifetime of precious memories of her love, laughter and her goodness that she lived out among us. I remember how beautifully she showed many acts of kindness to her sister-in-law, Aunt Bessie Ludlow, who lived at Golden Years. As a family we all have been recipients of those qualities that we thank God for as we continue our personal journeys through life. May you be comforted by God’s boundless Love and daily Grace for each of you today and into the future. Love and Blessings from Major Doreen (Hollett) and Harvey Canning, Cambridge, Ontario

Condolence From: Ina Baker
Condolence: Sincere condolences to all of you. One of the many memories I have of Vera was seeing her popping in at the hospital, visiting this one and that one, and dropping off baked muffins or cookies. I was a visitor then as my husband was hospitalized there for a long time. Always on the go and always full of energy. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Condolence From: Shirley Osmond
Condolence: To the Ludlow Family - Vera was a lifelong friend to the Wheeler family, especially to my parents Fred and Maisie Wheeler. Vera and her sister Joan (Crocker) would visit my parents regularly and when Dad passed, they would visit Mom. Every Saturday afternoon like clockwork, Joan would bring Mom her favorite homemade soup and Vera would bring homemade sugarless raisin buns - Mom looked forward to their visits because they had lots of memories to share - Mom's family was from Silverdale and Vera's from Harry's Harbour. In love and sympathy, Shirley Osmond (nee Wheeler) Burlington, Ontario

Condolence From: Rev. Royden & Jeanette Reynolds
Condolence: To Donna, Diane, Debbie, Darlene & Families: Our sincere condolences on the passing of your mother. I have known Vera for 60 years when her brother Les and I stayed overnight with them in the Fall of 1957. When I was stationed at King's Point I would stay with her mother, Aunt Ida, whenever I went to Harry's Harbour. It was truly 'a home away from home.' Since moving to Grand Falls Windsor I visited their home quite frequently when Ray was sick. I am very sorry that I am unable to participate in her funeral service today, but please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you today. God Bless. Royden & Jeanette

Condolence From: Doreen and Harvey Canning
Condolence: Cousins Donna, Debbie, Diane, Darlene and Families: I was saddened to hear the news of Aunt Vera's passing. I am the daughter of Gertie and William Hollett - my Mom, Gertie, was Uncke Ray's sister. We have lived outside Newfoundland for many years but nearly every summer we would visit the cemeteries in Grand Falls - Windsor. So often we would visit with your parents and have done so since Uncle Ray's passing and always enjoyed Aunt Vera's conversations about our families. Harvey and I fondly remember her Jar of Friendship preserved fruit on her kitchen counter and we were so graciously served some with a bowl of ice cream! Life is made of precious moments and each of you have many to share. We will be thinking and praying fir you tomorrow as you celebrate her wonderful life of love and goodness. May you experience God's sustaining grace through your journey of grief. Her memory is our keepsake With which we will never part ; God has Aunt Vera in His keeping - We have her in our hearts. Condolence From: Connie and Sean
Condolence: To my best friend, Donna, and to Debbie, Diane and Darlene... Losing a mom is never easy, especially one who was so giving and kind; it's the one word I keep coming back to - she was the epitome of kindness. That is a quality we all need to strive for; yet one that came to your mom quite naturally. It gives great comfort to know that she has passed on that very attribute to her children and grandchildren. Also comforting is knowing she is not suffering any longer. I believe this to be the cruelest disease ever - as it takes your loved one twice. As you move through the very difficult days ahead, know that others remember and care. Your dear mother had a very very special place in my heart and she always will. With lots of love and hugs, Connie.

Your Mom was an Angel to myself and our family. We loved and appreciated her more than words could ever say. Though she may be gone her memories will last forever. May you be comforted by these words... Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. I speak God's Peace over you and your families. Love you all Gloria Seager-Noseworthy
