Obituary for Robert Raymond Burden

Robert Raymond Burden
BOB (ROBERT) BURDEN
1957 – 2017

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Bob (Robert) Burden announce his passing at the Green Bay Health Care Center in Springdale on April 6, 2017 at the age of 59. Bob was a longtime member of Toronto Local #30 and Newfoundland Local #512, S.M.W.A. Bob retired from Flynn. He was predeceased by his father Pastor Ray Burden; his mother Mae Burden; and father-in-law Russell Tooley. Left with fond and loving memories is his wife Cathy, son Bobby of Beachside and daughter Tara (Andy) also of Beachside. Also leaving to mourn are his cherished grandchildren; Jack, Maggie and Brian that he loved with all his heart. Pastor James Lander will conduct the funeral service from the Bethel Pentecostal Tabernacle in Beachside on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at 11:00 am. Pallbearers are his son Bobby, son-in-law Andrew Manning, Darin Mercer and Wallace Verge. Honorary pallbearers are Jack Penney, Chris Bennett, Johnny Spears, Paul Carcone, Jason King and Rick Whitehead. Bob worked as a sheet metal worker from the age of 24 until his forced retirement due to sickness is 2013. Bob’s natural talent and hard earned reputation for intricate, detailed work carried him far and wide across the country on several landmark projects. His demanding nature, coupled with his ability to see great potential in others led him to take others under his wing. Bob was able to offer an education in the field far greater than can be attained in the classroom. His love for his children held no boundaries. Countless hours were spent rearranging his work schedule to ensure he NEVER missed a single accomplishment in his children’s lives. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.
