Alan James Raines
Allan "Lanny" James Raines
1948 - 2017
Passed peacefully away on Saturday, April 8, 2017, Alan "Lanny" James Raines at the age of 69 years. Predeceased by his parents Edward and Faye Raines; First wife, Donna; Brother, Rex Raines; Sister, Mildred (Raines) Ivany; Mother -in-law, Daisy Noel and very good friend Herb Ivany.

Leaving to mourn, his wife, Gloria; Two daughters, Jennifer (Ivany) Boisvert and Sheri Raines (David Rogers); Three grandchildren, Sophia Boisvert, Max Boisvert and Owen Rogers; Brothers-in-law, Munden Ivany (Pauline), Llewellyn Noel (Karen), Stanley Noel (Grace), and John Noel (Claudine); Many nieces and nephews and their families; Very special friends Ron & Pat Smith, Barbara Ivany and many other good friends.

The most gentle, kind, creative, respectful, and caring man, Lanny was a wonderful husband and father. He cherished life-long friendships, his family, and was always willing to drop everything to help anyone, whether it was a friend, family member or a perfect stranger. To know Lanny was to love him.

Lanny was a heavy-duty mechanic by trade, and a teacher and mentor in the classroom, in the garage and anytime he 'Macgyvered' his way through many a sticky situation. An expert story teller with razor sharp wit, keeping family and friends in stitches every time he told a story. Lanny loved going up in the country to the 'camp' and the cabin with his family and friends to hunt, fish, ski-doo, and take part in so many other adventures. A member of the Memorial United Church, Lanny was involved with many church committees over the years.

Lanny touched so many of lives in so many ways. He will forever be missed by all that knew him.

A special thank you to Peg and Joe Ronayne and family for their unwavering support throughout this trying time.
