Obituary for Malcolm James Norman

Malcolm James Norman
It is with great sadness that the family of Malcolm Norman of Beachside, NL announce his passing at the Central Regional Hospital in Grand Falls on June 5, 2017.
Malcolm was born and raised in Pacquet to John and Levina Norman.
As a young man Malcolm used to go to Beachside to visit with family. On one of those trips he met and fell in love with Shirley whom he married and enjoyed 43 years of marriage with. They were blessed with one child, Ruth, who was definitely the twinkle in Malcolm’s eye.
Even though Malcolm and Shirley only had one child of their own, there were 3 other children that spent many hours of their childhood in their home and held a special place in their hearts. They are Troy Coombs (nephew), Ashley Harris (niece) and Samantha Coombs (niece).
Malcolm worked at various jobs over the years but his passion was being in the woods. He enjoyed cutting wood, taking his family in for boil ups, and just going for walks. He also enjoyed lending a hand to anyone who needed it. Anything he could help with, he was there.
Malcolm was a member of the Pentecostal Church and spent his life serving the Lord.
He is predeceased by his parents, Joh and Levina; his brothers Baxter, Augustus and Jack; and his sisters Susie, Hazel, Cora, Gertrude, Linda; also his parents in law, George and Amelia Coombs; brothers-in-law Gilbert Coombs and Richard Power and sister in law Lillian Hynes.
Left with fond and loving memories are his wife Shirley, his daughter Ruth (Wayne) and his sister Ruby. Also, his brothers in law Carl Coombs, Charlie (Daisy) Coombs, Harvey Coombs, Ross (Betty) Coombs, and Lewis Coombs. His sisters in law Wavey (Melvin) Pelley and Maisie Power. He also leaves a large circle of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Malcolm will be remembered for his friendliness. He met everyone with a smile and had no problem starting up a conversation. He loved to know who you were, where you were from and wanted to know all about your family. And most times, he knew someone in your family!
