David Lawrence Furey
1936 - 2017

It is with great sadness that the family of the late David L. Furey announce his passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre on June 25, 2017 at the age of 80. David was an active member of the Knights of Columbus and a faithful member of his parish. He retired from his self-employed business in 1997. Predeceased by his parents; David and Theresa, his sisters; Marjorie Furey and Kathleen Murphy, his brother Tom Furey, brothers in law Bill Brophy and Andre Murphy. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife Margaret of 54 years, son Peter (Lori) Furey of Grand Falls-Windsor, daughters; Lisa Furey of Bishop’s Falls, Laurielynn (Paul) Kennedy, Bishop’s Falls, his sisters; Ursula Brophy Grand Falls-Windsor, Gertrude (Ronald) Dunphy, Bishop’s Falls, sister in law Mary Furey. Also left to mourn grandchildren; Justin Furey, Jonathan Furey, Nicholas Kennedy, Cameron Pollett, Jennifer Furey and Ethan Furey, great grandchildren: Luke Penney and Ellie Furey, along with a large family of nieces, nephews and cousins. Father Eugene Morris will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at the Sacred Heart Church on June 28, 2017; Interment will be at the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
