It is with great sadness that the family of the late Harry Willis Nichols announce his passing at his home, surrounded by his immediate family, in Grand Falls-Windsor, NL on November 6, 2017, at the age of 89. Harry retired from Abitibi-Price. Predeceased by his wife Eileen, brother Frank, sisters Ethel (Gus Harvey), Doris (Andrew) Eastman, and grandson Christopher. Left with fond and loving memories are his daughter Dolly (George Hart) of Grand Falls-Windsor, and sons Harry (Geri) of St. John’s, Glen (Bev) of Grand Falls-Windsor, and Bryan (Lorraine) of Grand Falls-Windsor. Also leaving to mourn are his grandchildren Sheri (Devin), Tracy, Jill (Todd), Frank, Adam, Douglas (Mia), and Michael, great-grandchildren Ben, Beth, Jax, and Emmy, step-grandchildren C.J. and Brian, brother Gord, sisters-in-law Joyce Bailey and Faith (Sim) Middleton, brothers-in-law Bill, Ron, and Russell Bursey, and a large circle of relatives and friends. Majors Marilyn and Maurice Blackler will conduct the funeral service at the Salvation Army Citadel on Thursday, November 9th, at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be held at the Salvation Army Cemetery. Pallbearers are Frank Nichols, Adam Nichols, Michael Hayes, Todd Blake, Devin Cameron, and Douglas Nichols. Honorary pallbearers are Bill Bursey, Roger Howse, Ben Blake, and Beth Cameron. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jim Maidment of Central Funeral Homes.
