Condolence: To Members of the Stoodley Family; Sorry to hear of Roy's passing. I(Tom) became acquainted with him in 1973-74 as an English teacher at Grand Falls Academy. He was a seasoned principal, and I was a young, aspiring teacher who respected him for his integrity and professionalism. My years with Roy until his retirement in 1981 were excellent years. Throughout his life, he dedicated himself to school, church, and community. Please accept our deepest sympathy.

I have many memories of Mr Stoodley - in school as a teacher and Vice Principal, and at home when visitng or when I 'baby' sat for Sandra, Dave and Mary Lou. My overriding memory, though, will always be the relationship between my Dad and Mr Stoodley, who shared a wicked sense of humour and camaraderie - so many chuckles - a great thing to remember at a sad time. Condolence From: Jim Saunders
Condolence: As surely as the mighty Exploits River powered the Grand Falls mill, teachers like Roy Stoodley lavished precious gifts on countless students as they might navigate successfully the river of life. Roy Stoodley was the very embodiment of all that he preached; years into retirement he was the first to sign up to travel far to be at the bedside of an ailing former student.

Condolence From: George and Jean White
Condolence: The Stoodley Family Please accept our sincere sympathy on the passing of your father. Since we both taught at GFA schools we shared many interesting experiences with both Roy and Emily. One of our fondest memories occurred when we accompanied a group of students on an European trip . Roy, being probably skeptical of the food over there, brought along a good supply of hard bread! To have lived such a long life and positively touched the lives of so many people would be everyone’s wish. Enjoy the memories. Jean and George

Condolence: Sandra, David and Marylou- I was sorry to hear of Uncle Roy's passing.I remember his dry sense of humour, the laughs he would get and the silly things he would do. My daughter, Jennifer often told the story of Uncle Roy swimming in the deep end of mom's pool in Florida with nothing only two plastic milk jugs under his arms. And I can still hear Aunt Emily say, with that stern look and voice of hers saying, "Roy!" Memories are a wonderful thing and will bring you comfort in the days ahead.
