RUTH CAROLINE GUY
1938 - 2017

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ruth Caroline Guy announce her passing at the Palliative Care Unit at the Carmelite House in Grand Falls-Windsor, NL on December 11, 2017 at the age of 79. Caroline was an avid hockey fan. She started watching her brother, the late Bucky Hannaford, in the 1950’s and became a permanent fixture at the Joe Byrne to watch the Cataracts right up to this year, even though she was very sick. She is predeceased by her parents, James and Ruth Hannaford, husband George Guy, brother James Bucky Hannaford, and sisters Mary Snow, Ann Kennedy, and Susan Walsh. Left with fond and loving memories are her sisters Linda Grouchy (Grand Falls-Windsor, NL), Helen Kirkpatrick (NB), Irene Goobie (AB), sister-in-law Gwendolyn Guy, along with a number of nieces and nephews who loved her unconditionally as well as a large circle of friends. Father Joseph Uy will conduct the funeral mass at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at the Roman Catholic cemetery. Pallbearers are Brent Thorne, Jerry Hanlon, Wince Freake, Ken Freake, Bob Osmond, and Les Wheeler. Honorary pallbearers are Todd Grouchy, Kirk Adams, Henry Snow, Barry Snow, Daryl Snow and Glen Frampton. Donations may be made in her memory to the Lionel Kelland Hospice.
