Olive G.  Reeves (Noseworthy)
Olive G. Reeves (nee Noseworthy) was born in Spaniard’s Bay, Conception Bay, NL on August 5, 1944.

At the age of 3, she moved to Grand Falls. She passed away at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre on January 11, 2018 at the age of 73.

Olive was a classroom and substitute teacher in the Central area for over 30 years. The last years of her teaching career was in Adult Education with the College of the North Atlantic. She loved teaching, and after her retirement she continued to be a Laubach volunteer tutor, teaching adults to read. In 2012, she won the Laubach Tutor of the Year Award for Newfoundland and Labrador.

She participated in many groups and activities throughout her life. She was one of the founding members of the Family Tree Genealogy group. Genealogy was a hobby she enjoyed.

Olive loved life and had a great sense of humor. She loved to chat, laugh, tell stories, and sing songs with her family and friends. Over the years, she wrote many poems for her friends’ birthdays and anniversaries. Olive will be fondly remembered by a very large circle of family and friends.

She is predeceased by her parents, Richard and Bertha Noseworthy, sister Linda and husband Laverne Paul, and brother-in-law Gordon W. Thomas.

Left with fond and loving memories are her husband, Orville Reeves, sons Richard Reeves (Paula) of Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, and Roger Reeves (Stephanie Lilly) of Paradise, NL. Also leaving to mourn are her five grandchildren: Melissa (Donnie) Draper, Nicole Reeves, Megan Reeves, Tayler Reeves, James Reeves, two great-grandchildren: Rian and Abigail Draper, sisters: Sharon (John) George of Harbour Breton, NL; Marina (Norris) Eaton of Pasadena, NL; Mary Lou (Robert) Dawe of Antigonish, NS; Margie (Gary) Fewer of Pasadena, NL; sister-in-law Linda Thomas of Trenton, ON; and many nieces and nephews.

Rev. Joan Antle will conduct the funeral service at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Grand Falls-Windsor, NL on Monday, January 15, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow at the Holy Trinity Parish Hall. Interment will be held at a later date at the Interfaith Cemetery, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jim Maidment of Central Funeral Homes.
