Obituary for Sterling Arthur Strickland
Sterling Arthur Strickland January 21, 1946 - January 12, 2018
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Sterling Arthur Strickland announce his passing at the age of 71. Surrounded by family, he passed peacefully into the presence the Lord at Valley Vista Home in Springdale. Sterling is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Una, sons Ricky (Brenda) of Spruce Grove AB, Rod (Kristine) of CBS NL, Jamie (Shana) of Fort McMurray AB and daughter Pastor Janet Strickland of Long Island NL, grandchildren Kristen, Jordan, Ryan, Nolan, Faith and Ben, brothers Lorne (Bernice) and Len (Helen) both of Robert’s Arm as well as other relatives and friends.
Sterling is reunited in heaven with his parents Dorman and Ruby Strickland and his precious grandson Joshua.
Sterling fought a courageous battle against cancer over the past year without a complaint to be heard. His happiest moments were when he was surrounded by family and especially enjoyed the time he spent with his grandchildren. You could always count on him for a good story and a laugh. He will be missed by everyone who was blessed to know him.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory to the Janeway Children’s Hospital.
