ROY HAROLD SHINER
1939 – 2018

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Roy Harold Shiner announce his passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor on February 20, 2018 at the age of 78. Roy retired from logging with Corner Brook Pulp and Paper in 1997. He was predeceased by his father Raymond; mother Grace; son Paul; brothers-Eddie, Reginald, Leonard, Eric Thomas; sisters Annie; parents in law Gilbert & Pearl Dicks; brothers-in-law-William Dicks, Eldred Dicks, David Dicks, Lindy Matthews, Cyril Smith, Vern Gould; sisters-in-law-Mildred Burden, Sadie Shiner, Glenys Dicks. Left with fond and loving memories is his wife Violet Shiner; sons-Eldred (Carolyn) of Paradise, Morley (Peggy) of Appleton; daughters-Melvina (Morris Parsons) of South Brook and Crystal (Andrew Anthony) of South Brook. Also leaving to mourn grandchildren-Mitch Parsons (Elaine), Marlaina Parsons (Andrew), Brooke Shiner, Erica Shiner, Neleh Shiner; honorary grandson Tyler Dubois; sisters-Jessie Matthews, Bernice (Bruce Hewlett), Phylis (Frank Huxter); brothers-Geddis (Sylvia), Winston (Marie); sisters-in-law-Jessie (Reg Gumbley), Edith (Gord Frahm), Juanita, Ivy (Aubrey Oake), Kim, Olive; brothers-in-law Bert, Alvin; as well as nieces, nephews and a large circle of family and friends. Pastor Kerry Northcotte will conduct the funeral service from the Calvary Pentecostal Tabernacle in South Brook on Friday, February 23 at 2:00 pm. Interment will be at the Pentecostal Cemetery in South Brook. Pallbearers are Morley Shiner (son), Morris Parsons (son-in-law), Andrew Anthony (son-in-law), Marlaina Parsons (granddaughter), Brooke Shiner (granddaughters) and Neleh Shiner (granddaughter). Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.
