Gordon was an active member of the United Church, a volunteer for the fire department in South Brook, a member of the hospital board in Springdale, and a devoted friend to many. In his early years, Gordon worked in the logging industry. Through the years, he owned and operated his own trucking business and,for a period of time, he also owned and operated the school bus. In his later years, Gordon was an employee for the town of South Brook until his retirement.
Gordon was not only a hard worker but he kept himself busy with numerous activities like playing the guitar and singing, boat building, gardening, playing cards, and spending time with his family and friends. He always said that he enjoyed his life and that life was good to him.
