Obituary for Arthur Herman Kelley

Arthur Herman Kelley
ARTHUR HERMAN KELLEY
1956 - 2018

It is with the heaviest of hearts, and deepest of sadness the loving family announce the sudden passing of Arthur Herman Kelley. Art was a loving and devoted husband and father, with strong will to do what was right and help whoever he could, be it stranger or friend.

Arthur began his life in Jacksons Cove. As a child he started fishing with his family friend/neighbour. At the age of 16 he was a full share crew member of a longliner, fishing on the Labrador, before going away to work with Irving, sailing the eastern seabord on tanker ships. He left this after several years when he married the love of his life, Debbie. From there he bought his first dump truck and worked at various projects around the island. In 1982, Art and Debbie were blessed with the birth of their son, Kevin, whom as years passed, was not only a son, but a best friend & companion in life.
In 1984, Art bought an R model Mack truck and went to work as a broker for Day and Ross, where he ran well over 3 million, accident free miles and made a lot of friends on the road over the years. He continued with Day and Ross for 33 years up until his passing, not driving so much in the last few years, but keeping the business he worked so hard to build going, as well as keeping his equipment running.

Art, will be severely missed by his family, friends, collegues, co workers, and anyone who knew him. He will be remembered as a strong, loving, generous, professional and compassionate man.

Art was predeceased by his parents Herman & Verna Kelley, brother John Dale of Jacksons Cove and father in law Eric Foote.
Left with fond & loving memories are his wife Debbie , son, Kevin (Shauna) Lucy (family dog), sisters, Sandra (Barry) & Jennifer (Mitchell), brother Terry & nephews Casey & Gregory.

Also left to mourn are his Mother in law Amelia, sisters in law Denise (Morley), Darlene (Wayne) & brother in law Paul (Claude), nephews & nieces, Marc, Charlie, Jeremy, Jamie, Troy, Janet, Alex, Laura & Des. As well as an extended family of Aunts & Uncles.

The Kelley family wish to acknowledge with deep appreciation the many expressions of love, concern, kindness & support shown to them during this time of bereavement.
