It seems that your father enjoyed giving and he did this by giving of himself to the church. He was always there no matter the weather either to direct the traffic after a funeral, special service in the church, or after Sunday Mass. He was always there at the funeral home to start the rosary or just be there. His presence made one feel that you were never alone. For many years when I was bartending at the Curling rink, he was a regular during the weekend bonspiels. He loved a good game of curling. I remember how he liked his drink with just a splash of water. More like a drip. I would always think to myself, it was just as well to drink it straight up.
