Herbert Elmo Rowsell
1939-2018
With broken hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Herbert Rowsell, on May 20, 2018 at the age of 78. Pre-deceased by his parents Samuel and Jessie, and brothers William, Edward and Harold. Leaving to mourn his wife of 47 years, Margarite; daughter, Dianne (Mike); and son Jeffrey (Jessie), his sister Marion, many nieces and nephews, as well as a large circle of other relatives and close friends.
Herbert was born to Samuel and Jessie Rowsell on Mansfield Point and was the youngest of 5 children. Herb began fishing as a young boy at the age of 13 and continued until his mid sixties. Herb was well known for his love of fishing, his commitment to hard work, and of course laughter. Those whom knew him well knew that he was always up for a conversation and a bit of mischief. He faced life’s challenges head on and never let physically adversity stand in his way of doing anything he decided to do. Other than his family, He loved nothing more than to be on the waters surrounding Harry’s harbour in his boat.
He was a warm, gentle man that will be deeply missed.
