CHRISTINE MARY LINGARD
1942 - 2018
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Christine Mary Lingard announce her passing in Grand Falls-Windsor, NL on June 13, 2018 at the age of 75. Christine Mary Lingard was a dedicated mother, a member of the Roman Catholic Church, and an avid member of the bowling league.
Teen was always one to have a laugh, a dance, and was the life of the party.
She was kind and empathetic to everyone, and had a rare gift of seeing the goodness in others. “Keep your head up. No one is better than you, and you’re no better than anyone else,” she used to say.
Teen was a pillar of strength, and an eternal optimist. She was looking forward to her next adventures and gatherings with family and friends when she lost her battle with cancer.
A special thank you to the wonderful nurses and doctors who ensured her comfort and dignity throughout her challenges.
She will, without a doubt, walk with God!
Christine is predeceased by her father, Patrick, mother, Margaret Power, brothers, Bob Power and Patrick Power, and grandson, Michael Lingard.
Left with fond and loving memories are her son, Cory Lingard (Alicia Dominic) of Greenwood, NS, stepsons, Brad Lingard of Badger, NL, Blair Lingard of Badger, NL, and Craig Lingard (Lizzie) of Kuujjuaq, QC, and daughter, Tammie Cross of Grand Falls-Windsor, NL. Also leaving to mourn are her brothers and sisters, Imelda (George) McDonald, Barbara (Bill) Finn, Jerome (Mary) Power, Irene (Ed) Hultin, Maureen Roberts, Ron (Marg) Power, Marg Barry, Yvonne (Peter) Bellworthy, and Denise Power, grandchildren, Lauren Cross, Kherington Lingard, Lachlan Dominic, Mackenzie Lingard, Jordan Lingard, Julius Lingard, Maria Lingard, Keesha Lingard, Brianne Lingard, Jason Lingard, Johnny Lingard, Joyce Lingard, Jana Lingard, Junior Lingard, Justin Lingard, Gloria Lingard, and Sheila Berthe, as well as many nieces and nephews, and a large circle of friends, especially her bowling and church friends.
A funeral service will be held at Central Funeral Homes Chapel on Saturday, July 7, 2018. There will be no visitation. A gathering of family and friends will take place at 10:30 a.m., preceding the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Grand Falls-Windsor Cancer Clinic. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jim Maidment of Central Funeral Homes.
