The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Gladys Osmond can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Gladys

I first heard from Gladys while on tour in 2006 as I read one of her many letters to soldiers overseas. I was touched by her letter and replied that I had read her letter. I quickly got an answer back via e-mail that started a dialog of my journey and expeierences on deployment. She told me about herself and her own adventures. I was inspired by her zest and enjoyed receiving lines from her. I would continue to hear from her over the next couple of years but alas fell out of touch as I had switch e-mail accounts and had forgotten the password. I often that of her as her name would come up in discussions as she was well known amongst the servicemen and women of the CF. I'm sadden now, that she's gone and wish I would have kept in touch. My last touch with her, she had told me that her eye sight was becoming poor and was finding it harder to keep in touch with the members. It was truly amazing what she did and how long she did it for, I hope she knew how many lives she touched. I glad I was part of her life and she mine. RIP Gladys.
