Condolence: Gerry and I met many years back In a swimming group in GFW. Over the years when we would meet in church or on the street we would always share news of what was happening in our lives. We'd laugh, share our stories, and mutual respect for each other. While not often we'd see each other in recent years my good memories of a very strong, dynamic and special woman remain.

Condolence: I had the pleasure of knowing Gerry, sadly, a short time. My mother, Bernadette, became very smitten on this beautiful lady with whom she grew very close to over the past several years. While my mom knew her longer than this, she grew closer to her in this time frame. She considered Gerry like a second mother so needless to say I heard lots about her! I met Gerry for the first time many years ago (maybe 15-20 years) at a social for the parish. I remember seeing her at various functions and hearing my mom talk about how she needed to contact Gerry about something for the church. I moved out, visited home and would always manage to ask my Mom "How's that lady doing, Gerry?" For some reason I always asked about her. Although my first encounter with her was brief, there was something about her, a genuineness that always made me think of her. During the past year I visited Gerry frequently and got to know her on a more personal level. I discovered this woman was a fountain of information; educated, classy and very witty! She boasted about her flower gardens from the past and showed me pictures; you could tell it was a pass time she thoroughly enjoyed. She thought very highly of her children and beamed when talking about her grandchildren and great grandchildren; most recently she particularly loved seeing videos of family from away! I am terribly sorry for the family members of this remarkable woman. The sadness of losing a mother, grandmother, great grandmother of her stature is hard to endure. My thoughts are prayers are with you all during this difficult time.

Condolence: My deepest sympathy to each and all as you mourn the death of your mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend ! I have lost a dear friend and soul-mate in Gerry Colbourne -Molloy and though I need to weep her loss....and I did ...I have many memories to hold and bless me .Thank you Gerry for your trust in me ! However, in my sadness I need some consolation today and I find glimpses in the poem by John O'Donohue. " Let us not look for you only in memory...where we would grow lonely without you.... You, (Gerry) would want us to find you in Presence... Beside us when beauty brightens ... when kindness flows... and music echoes eternal tone.... when orchids brighten the earth, and when darkest winter has turned to spring... May this dark grief flow with love... In every heart that loves you..... And may you continue to inspire us .... (John O'Donohue ) in Death as in Life . Rest in peace now my friend !

Condolence: Life sometimes bring special people into our lives. One evening while I was out for a walk I was put in the direction of 9 Poplar Road. The residence of Geraldine Margaret Colbourne.I knew her a few years at that point from church committees etc. This was not my normal walking route but before I knew it I was on her door step ringing her door bell. When she opened that door little did we know that a bond between two people would transpire.Gerry and I would grow in friendship and love for many years to come. She taught me to live life to the fullest and not take anything for granted. She was a wise and caring lady who loved her children....grandchildren.....and great grandchildren beyond measure.I have even gained a new family through Gerry and for that I am so grateful.I could write a book about our friendship but a lot of my memories I will keep locked up in my heart.Life then takes special people out of our lives leaving a void that hurts more then words can say.Be at peace my friend. It was a privilege to be with you when you bid this world farewell.God Bless you.

Condolence: I was so sorry to hear about your family's loss. Your mum was a remarkable woman, and although I didn't speak with her often, I enjoyed every conversation I had with her. We laughed a lot, we reminisced about her friendship with my mum, and I will miss her very much. May her memory always be for a blessing, and may your conversations about her be filled with love and joy.

Condolence: To Anne,John,Maureen,Michael,Patricia and Kathy: Please accept my deepest sympathy on your dear Mother's passing.I was shocked and saddened by your news. She was a good Mother to you all,who encouraged your ambitions and talents, and always put you first; moreover, she was a strong and resilient member of our community. She was a wonderful woman, with a great sense of humour, and I enjoyed talking to her over these last number of years, especially. I remember first getting to know her during the days of football in your back yard with John and the gang years ago, and the number of garage windows broken on the field goals and punts! She was a patient person. When your Father asked my Dad to take over and conduct the B Coy Royal NL Regiment Garrison Band in the early 60ties,thus began our important strong and enduring relationship, and honoured connection to the Royal NL Regiment, and B Coy. It was heart warming to see you in France at Beaumont Hamel, this past July 1st.,for the 100th Anniversary, and I know your Mother was proud that we all went!Remembering of course, her Father who had served so valiantly there! Great memories there and great memories from the years we lived in Grand Falls! I will miss my calls to your Mother, and our chats, and I will miss her. I know that God Will Love Her as much as you did! Please accept my sincere condolences and May God Bless you all in your hour of Sorrow. We will keep in touch. Frank Hiscock. P.S. "Better Than the Best".
