MELVINA DORIS SLADE
1938 – 2016

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Melvina Doris Slade announce her passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Center in Grand Falls-Windsor on November 28, 2016 at the age of 78. Melvina was a member of the Faith Pentecostal Church in Lushes Bight. She was predeceased by her father, Edgar Rice; mother, Dulcie Rice; sisters, Ruth Burton and Gertie Wellman and son-in-law Barry Lush. Left with fond and loving memories is her husband Hayward Slade; sons-Edgar Slade of Edmonton, Dawson Slade of Lushes Bight, Maxwell Slade (Deborah) of Lushes Bight, Ricky Slade of Lushes Bight and Hardy Slade (Angela) of Hampton; daughters-Bessie Burton (Clyde) of South Brook, Ruth Lush of Triton, Dulcie Heath (Danny) of Toronto, Monda Oake (Wade) of Lushes Bight, Jacqueline Morgan (Sterling) of Lushes Bight and Nancy Rideout (Curtis) of Triton. Also leaving to mourn are her brother Ronald Rice and her sister Hazel Hapgood as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, relatives and friends. Pastor Janet Strickland will conduct the funeral service from the Faith Pentecostal Church in Lushes Bight on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at 2:00 pm. Interment will be at the Faith Pentecostal Cemetery. Pallbearers are Dawson Slade (son), Ricky Slade (son), Hardy Slade (son), Matthew Slade (grandson), Wade Oake (son-in-law), Joshua Morgan (grandson).
