ALVERNA MARY HURLEY
1951 – 2021
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Alverna Hurley announce her passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor, NL on January 4, 2021 at the age of 69. Alverna was a member of St. Theresa’s Altar Society, and A.M. Guy volunteer for many years. She retired from home care work. Predeceased by parents, James and Frances Lane; and brothers, Ronald Lane and Gerard Lane. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her husband, Mike Hurley; and daughter, Tammy Hurley (Tony Pride) of Buchans, NL. Also leaving to mourn are nanny’s little girl, Gracie; sisters, Bernice (Frank), Philomena (Rick), Anita (Jordon), and Cecilia; brothers, Rob (Natalie), Alonzo, Jerome (Precilla), and Leonard; and many special nieces, nephews, and friends. Due to COVID-19 regulations, the visitation and funeral service will be held for family and invited friends only. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made in her memory to the Diabetes Association or Kidney Foundation. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jim Maidment of Central Funeral Homes.
