Obituary for Anna Margaret Smith (Head)

Anna Smith (July 9th, 1933 - March 8th, 2021)

Anna received her special wings at A.M. Guy Health Centre on March 8th, 2021 at 3:12pm surrounded by a small circle of family and friends. Anna was pre-deceased by the love of her life, Harry, her parents Annie and Patrick, sister Marie, brothers Angus and Thomas, and brothers-in-law Doug and Harmannus. Leaving to mourn are her brother Tony (Lorna), sister Margie, sister-in-law Loretta, as well as large circle of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and many friends.

Anna was a one of a kind person - an inspiration to all who knew and loved her. She was a quiet force and a mother to so many, she gave from her heart with no thanks required. She treated and loved all of her nieces and nephews as they were her own, as well as all the children down the line. Anna was very strong in her religion but never judged anyone in their beliefs.

Special thanks to Charlie O’Toole and Charlie Forward for being there at Anna’s every beck and call. To Cecilia, her care giver who went above and beyond - you were the best! To Pierce and Lorna for their devotion and support especially over the last few days. Thanks to everyone who has helped and been there for Anna over the years - there are too many to mention. Thank you to the staff at the A. M. Guy Health Centre - your kindness and care will be remembered.

There will only ever be one Anna and she has left such a void in the lives of many. Until we meet again, rest easy sweet Anna. Smithie will be waiting at the gates for you.

Cremation has taken place and there will be no service due to COVID-19 restrictions. Burial to take place at a later date. Donations may be made in her memory to St. Theresa's Parish. Arrangements were entrusted to Jim Maidment of Central Funeral Homes.
