ANTHONY (TONY) MATTHEW HAMILTON
1950 - 2021
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Anthony (Tony) Matthew Hamilton announce his passing at his home in Grand Falls-Windsor, NL on December 5, 2021 at the age of 71.
Dad will be fondly remembered for his chuckle and his many “Dad” jokes. Dad was happiest when surrounded by his family. The foundation of Dad’s life was his family, it was his driving force and in his own words, “family is everything to me”. Dad spent 35 years working with the Government of Newfoundland as a Highway Enforcement Inspector, a career that he loved, and he gained a lot of good friends from his co-workers and the public. Dad always enjoyed a Tim’s coffee, a good Western pocket book, and was an avid Blue Jays fan. He spent many hours listening to music, mostly country, Merle Haggard was one of his favorites. Over the last few years, his world revolved around his grandchildren Rebecca and Jake. His smile was never brighter than when he was with his “little princess” and “little buddy”. Mutually they loved him with all of their hearts.
Tony is predeceased by his father, Philip; mother, Mabel; brothers, Edward, Philip, and Alexander; sisters, Catherine (Churchill), Cecelia, and Joan; and sister-in-law, Violet Elson.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Deanna Hamilton; and sons, Dave (Krista) and Chad (Joanne). Also leaving to mourn are his grandchildren, Rebecca and Jake Hamilton; brothers, Terry (Eleanor) and Reginald Hamilton (Debbie); sister, Marie Hamilton; brothers-in-law, Bill and Terry Elson, and Jim (Dorann) Elson; and sisters-in-law, Glenda Hamilton and Margaret Hamilton.
