BERTILLE MARY CROKE (nee. NOLAN)
1934 - 2019
Our mother passed peacefully at the Carbonear General Hospital on Friday, March 22nd at the age of 84. She leaves behind family and so many friends who loved her dearly.
She leaves behind:
Son: Michael Croke (Jackie) of Tilton, NL
Daughter: Dianne Downie (Mick) of Logan Lake, BC
Grandchildren:
Shane Croke (Jennifer) of Vermilion, AB
Janine Croke-Koopman (Roger) of Vineland, ON
Michael Croke (Tonya Chypyha) of Princeton, BC
Great-Grandchildren:
Mason, Carter, Kohen, Ethan and Sadie (Croke)
Gabrielle (Koopman)
Eternaty (McCart-Croke)
Brother: Tommy Nolan (Marie) of Stephenville, NL
And a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
She left us to be with her husband: Michael Croke, her parents: Thomas and Johanna Nolan and all her brothers and sisters who left us before her.
She was born in Duntara, Bonavista Bay and went to Buchans for work where she met and married Michael Croke of Fortune Harbour. Together they raised 2 children but she lost her husband in 1993, and though she missed him terribly, she lived the rest of her life to the fullest and dedicated herself to her family and friends. She moved to Marathon, ON to live near her son and his family and for the past 12 years has lived in Logan Lake, BC near her daughter and son-in-law. She recently moved back home, where she spent her final days with her son and daughter-in-law in Tilton, NL and closer to her brother Tommy.
She may have been small in stature but she was big on humour, wit and sarcasm, and a love of laughter, music, friends and family. She enjoyed good food, good times and good people, telling old stories and enjoying the company of those around her.
“THERE IS ONLY ONE HAPPINESS IN THIS LIFE – TO LOVE AND BE LOVED”
She lived a long and “HAPPY” life!
She will be missed and remembered with love by so many.
