Obituary for Breta Grace Young
Breta C G Young (Milley)
March 10, 1938 - May 18, 2021
It is with great sadness that the family of Breta Young announce her passing at Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls on May 18, 2021 at the age of 83. Predeceased by husband Graham Young, mother Beryl Milley (Strong), father Thomas Milley and brother Ford Tucker. Breta is survived by daughter Krista Young of Halifax, Nova Scotia and brother Allan Milley (Linda) of Lloydminster, Alberta. Also leaving to mourn are brothers and sisters in law, Cecil Young (Juanita), Cameron Young (Golda), Phyllis Carlson, Hope Cole, Doris Bowers, Doreen Young, Marie Bennett and Queen Bennett. Counted among the mourners are a large circle of extended family and friends.
Breta grew up in Corner Brook, Newfoundland and got her first job with Bank of Montreal at the age of 17. She worked with Bank of Montreal for over forty years and volunteered within her community in a variety of ways during her career and retirement. She was a faithful member of the Pentecostal Church throughout her life.
Mom loved nothing more than to interact with people; it was one of the great joys of her life. Whether it was to make an unexpected joke or said something completely insightful that was Mom's way. It's something of her I recognize in myself. I'll miss you, Mom. Rest in peace.
