Obituary for Brian (Sam) Patrick Hennessey

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Brian Hennessey announce his peaceful passing at his residence at the age of 62 years. Brian was an employee for many years of Thruway Recreation, as well as a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 12 for the past 20 years. Brian was well known, and well loved by everyone that knew him. In his spare time, Brian was an avid outdoorsman. He loved fishing, hunting and time spent at the cabin with his good friends. Many weekends were spent between Brian and Kim in the shed playing darts or sitting on their patio listening to music and drinking a cold beer.
Left to mourn are Brian’s wife Kim Hennessey; his son Steve (Sam); his siblings: Ted (Lisa) of Calgary, Maureen (Ted) Down, Tina (Paul) Brake of Nova Scotia, Phil (Lori) of Grand Falls-Windsor, Debbie (James) Vanderberg of Calgary and David (Kathleen); his parents-in-law Sonia Powell and Ray Babstock; his siblings-in-law Chris (Charlie) Wright of Alberta and Sonia (Devin) Drozd of Alberta; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Brian was predeceased by his parents Ted and Alice Hennessey, his brother Peter, nephew Teddy, and his father-in-law Bram Powell.
The Hennessey family would like to extend a special thank you to the nursing staff at 2A of Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Dr. Mark O’Driscoll, and Ruth Wells for their kindness and compassion shown to Brian.
In keeping with Brian’s wishes, aquamation has taken place. There will be no formal funeral service. Friends and family are invited to visit Central Funeral Homes, 45 Union Street from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, April 18th. No flowers by request of the family.
