Obituary for Corbin Keith Rice

It is with profound sadness and love, that the family of Corbin Keith Rice announces his sudden, but peaceful passing at Central Health GFW on April 19th 2024.

Corbin was born to Marie Rice on December 18th 1956 at the Springdale Cottage Hospital. Later, Marie married Ralph Maye of Pilley’s Island, moved to Robert’s Arm where they added 4 more boys to conclude their family.
Corbin cherished his family, and moved on to spread his love with his own family, wife Lorna, and daughter Stacie. He met the love of his life in 1987, and was wed on August 10th 1991 but the one thing on his bucket list before the wedding, was the purchase of his Harley Davidson Heritage Softail Classic!

Now, anyone who knew Corbin knows his passion for Harley Davidson Motorcycles, so combine this with his zest for life, love of travelling, and meeting new people, and you will know why he loved his life, and why he always wore a smile. It would also explain why he chose long haul truck driving as his career, and then retiring in 2020 from Suncor, as a heavy equipment operator.

Corbin will be remembered for his infectious smile, and wonderful sense of humor. Everyone he met instantly became his friend, and was loved by him.

Corbin is predeceased by his stepdad Ralph Maye, brothers, Dwayne, Kerry, and Trevor. Mother and Father in- law, Paul and Annie Wellman of Springdale. Brothers in- law David, Howard, and Lorne Wellman. Sister- in laws Gloria (Sandy Tilley), Madeline, Barbara, and Ashley.

Leaving to mourn, his wife Lorna, daughter Stacie (Trent), son Matthew, and the apple of his eye, his grandson Chase (Madeline). Treats from pop will also be missed from grand cat Cringer, and great-grand dog Atlas, who he joked and called “map” for short.

Also left to mourn are his mother Marie, Brother Tracy (Deanna), and sister in law Leeann.
In- laws Leonard, Marilyn (Steve), Wallace (Faye), Joe (Teresa), Pauline, Wayne (Fern), Kerry (Hazel), Keith, and Val, . Also a large number of nieces , nephews, cousins and friends. He loved you all.

Our family would like to thank all those who send condolences, cards, calls, food, and messages. It was all appreciated.
Also, to the ICU staff at GFW hospital, your passionate care and kindness won’t be forgotten.

Last but not least, we would like to thank Ken Goodyear for not only his professional care, but for going above and beyond for the family viewing with the amazing Harley display! You and Lar are the best!
