It is with heavy hearts following declining health, we the family of the late Cyril Blackmore announce his passing at the ripe age of 93 years at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL on Friday, July 17, 2020.
Cyril is predeceased by his parents James and Josephine Blackmore, sisters Lillian, Theresa, Sheila, Mary, Rita, and Alice, and brothers, Father Matthew, James, and Raymond.
He leaves to mourn his beloved and devoted wife of 60 years, Monica (Ralph) Blackmore, son Gerald Blackmore of Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, daughters: Patricia Blackmore of Fort McMurray, AB (Terry Bishop, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL ); Madonna Noseworthy (Gary), Grand Falls-Windsor, NL; and Marie Blackmore of Mississauga, ON, granddaughters: Destiny Norman of Mississauga, ON, Angela Rowsell (Curtis) of Goulds, NL, and Marisa Rowsell (Zack) of St. John’s, NL.
Cyril was well known in the community. He worked many long hours while employed as a pipefitter at Abitibi-Price Consolidated until his retirement in 1987 boasting over 35 years of service.
He was especially known for his infectious dry humor. He was a tremendous family man and devoted husband, father and grandfather, as well as uncle to a large circle of nieces and nephews from Bellevue, Trinity Bay, NL and Fort McMurray, AB. I was so surprised and sad to hear of Cyril ,s. passing, I worked at the mill in the pipe shop with Cyril for many years. He was a very hard worker, and had the Best sense of humour of anyone I have known . He would have the whole shop laughing within minutes of him coming in. My condolences to the family, and all of his friends . He will be remembered with fond memories by so many people. Rest in peace cyril
