Obituary for Cyril Blackmore

CYRIL BLACKMORE
December 13, 1926 - July 17, 2020


It is with heavy hearts following declining health, we the family of the late Cyril Blackmore announce his passing at the ripe age of 93 years at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL on Friday, July 17, 2020.
Cyril is predeceased by his parents James and Josephine Blackmore, sisters Lillian, Theresa, Sheila, Mary, Rita, and Alice, and brothers, Father Matthew, James, and Raymond.
He leaves to mourn his beloved and devoted wife of 60 years, Monica (Ralph) Blackmore, son Gerald Blackmore of Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, daughters: Patricia Blackmore of Fort McMurray, AB (Terry Bishop, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL ); Madonna Noseworthy (Gary), Grand Falls-Windsor, NL; and Marie Blackmore of Mississauga, ON, granddaughters: Destiny Norman of Mississauga, ON, Angela Rowsell (Curtis) of Goulds, NL, and Marisa Rowsell (Zack) of St. John’s, NL.
Cyril was well known in the community. He worked many long hours while employed as a pipefitter at Abitibi-Price Consolidated until his retirement in 1987 boasting over 35 years of service.
He was especially known for his infectious dry humor. He was a tremendous family man and devoted husband, father and grandfather, as well as uncle to a large circle of nieces and nephews from Bellevue, Trinity Bay, NL and Fort McMurray, AB. A friend to many, including work buddies as well as long-time personal friends. To know him was to love him. He was dearly loved by his family and will be tremendously missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Lionel Kelland Hospice or charity of choice.
Due to the COVID-19 Global Pandemic, a private family funeral mass will be held Saturday, July 25, 2020 commencing at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Parish, Station Road, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL
