Obituary for Cyril Freeman Roberts
With great sadness, the family of Cyril Freeman Roberts of Springdale (formerly Little Bay Islands), announce his unexpected death on Wed, June 9, 2021 at Grand Falls/Windsor NL.
Cyril was born on June 13, 1944, first son of Pierce and Lillian Roberts of Little Bay Islands. Left with fond and loving memories are his children Lee (Michelle) Roberts, Lisa (Norman) Baverstock and Lyndon (Colleen) Roberts; Grandchildren Andrew & Colby (Roberts), Deanna Laginskie, Lauren Mines, and Emily Macdonald; and Great-Grandchildren Joshua and Jayla Roberts.
Mourning, along with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren are his siblings: Dorothy Button, Ruby LeDrew, Olive (Willis) Earle, Violet (Edward) Folkes, Betty-Lou Roberts-Topping, Wavey (Dennis) Colbourne, Randy Roberts and Beulah (Michael) LeBlanc, friends that were like family, Debbie and Chantelle, special friend Elizabeth, plus a large circle of extended family and lifetime friends.
Cyril, known for his smile, his sense of humor, his generous hugs and his toothpick, touched the lives of many during his almost 77 years. His accordion and beautiful singing voice, were often used for playing and singing numerous church songs that he loved.
Cyril is predeceased by his parents Pierce and Lillian Roberts, infant brother, grandparents John & Maggie Locke and John and Beatrice Roberts.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ken Goodyear, Central Funeral Homes, Springdale.
