Obituary for Daisy Beryl Burton (Simms)
DAISY BERYL BURTON
October 13, 1938 - March 09, 2021
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a wonderful wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother at the age of 82.
Daisy was born on October 13, 1938 to Wilfred & Frances Simms of Shoal Arm, Little Bay, NL. She later moved to Springdale to live with her grandmother after the death of her mother. Some years later she met her husband Guy and was married August 15, 1958. Together they raised three sons and one daughter. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved her children and grandchildren immensely.
Daisy was predeceased by her mother Frances Simms, Father, Wilfred Simms, baby brother William
and brother Donald Simms.
She leaves to mourn her loving husband, Guy; three sons: Dennis, Jerry & Kevin and one daughter: Jan (Robert), three grandchildren: Julia Whalen (Nee Blundell), Joshua Blundell and Abigail Blundell,
four great-grandchildren: Caleb Whalen, Gabriel Whalen, Alanna Baldwin Blundell and Kayden Tubrett. Also leaving to mourn, her sister, Verneva Roberts (Howard); brother, Clayton Butt (Lynette) and a variety of other family and friends.
Daisy was a Christian lady with a strong faith in her God, Jehovah. She attended her Bible meetings faithfully and shared in the ministry telling others of her great faith as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Some of her happiest days were spent in the ministry.
She also enjoyed cooking for her family and spending time with her youngest son, Kevin - even if it was to go walking together. She loved spending time with her three grandchildren - going on outings to the beach and going to the trailer in the woods where she also enjoyed her husband doing all the cooking and cleaning up. She was all smiles at times like those. She was a meek and mild person and everyone who truly knew he loved her. She will be greatly missed and forever remembered.
