DONALD BRAYE
1927 - 2019

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Donald Braye announce his passing at the Carmelite House in Grand Falls-Windsor, NL on February 7, 2019, at the age of 92. Donald was a member of the Memorial United Church and the men's and senior's choir, Masonic Lodge, Royal Canadian Legion, Kinsmen, K-40, and retired from Abitibi. He is predeceased by his wife, Jean Braye. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his sons, Clifford Braye (Donna) of Fort McMurray, AB, and Jeffrey Braye (Patricia) of Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, and daughters, Roma Hicks (Frank) of Springdale, NL, Susan Rowsell (Colin) of Fort McMurray, AB, and Donna Rideout (Bill) of Grand Falls-Windsor, NL. Also leaving to mourn are his brothers, Calvin Braye (Patsy), Herb Braye (Bernice), Junior Braye (Linda), special friend, Dorothy Goulding, grandchildren, Christopher Hicks (Lisa), Sarah Isaac (Mike), Matthew Hicks (Tabitha), Kelly Rowsell (Troy), Melissa Braye (Kristian), Jessica Braye (Sam), and Megan Rideout (Kevin), and great-grandchildren, Brandon Power, Ryan Power, Zoey Isaac, Thomas Isaac, Ethan Hicks, Owen Dawe, and Charlotte Braye. Rev. Kim Waite will conduct the funeral service at the Memorial United Church in Grand Falls-Windsor, NL on Monday, February 11, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held at the Interfaith Cemetery, Grand Falls-Windsor. Pallbearers will be members of the Masonic Lodge Northcliffe - Paul Evans, Robert Cater Jr., Bob Duffney, Jim Smith, Duncan Mercer, and Otto Ryan. Flowers gratefully accepted by the family or donations may be made in his memory to a charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jim Maidment of Central Funeral Homes.
