Obituary for Dylan Howard LeDrew

Dylan Howard LeDrew
March 13, 1992 – April 1, 2024
It is with great sadness the family of the late Dylan LeDrew announce his passing on April 1st, 2024 at Triton, NL at the age of 32.
Dylan came into the world fast and furious on the TransCanada highway headed to Springdale near the Forestry Station on March 13th, 1992.
During his early childhood Dylan loved being on the shirt tail of his Dad. During these times he spent many hours on the water fishing, cutting wood and at the cabin. This started his love for the great outdoors. A cabin in the woods became his home away from home.
Dylan’s love for his Mom Ruby was a very strong bond of mom and nan combined, and her love for him was unconditional. Even though he had all that love for his Mom Ruby, he shared an equal amount for his Mom Danielle who was always there with her unconditional love and support ever step of the way.
His younger brother Nick was not only a sibling, but he was also his best friend. A friend who he could talk to, argue with, torment and cry with. He was his boating and fishing buddy along with a companion who was there whenever a new adventure was about to begin.
Dylan had a great sense of humour and wit. He would make a stranger laugh with his
“out of the blue” random comments. He had a strong love for music, was a terrific dancer and his song choices were just as random as his witty comments.
He had a great love for collecting antiques. Wherever his travels took him, the antiques stores would have to be visited. Additions to his collections would fill the truck. Exploring Newfoundland communities was something he admired. Cabins and tenting were his favorite accommodations and if there was a chainsaw to be found, he would be cutting and chopping wood.
Dylan had a heart for nature and animals in general but had a special love for Duck, Skipper and Moonshyne and the list could go on forever.
After graduating Dylan began his working life with Duralite. As one can tell you what his work consisted of was simply “Doing Things”.
He then moved on to Budgell’s Equipment where his drilling career began. After Springdale Forestry he began working at Voisey’s Bay. His wish was to find a job on the Island to be closer to his family especially his pride and joy Casen.
Marathon Gold at Valentine Lake became his final workplace where he was a licensed Driller/Blaster. He was known as one of the best drillers there hence his nickname “Drillin Dylan”
On December 3, 2021 his life changed when his son Casen came into the world. Casen was his everything. Time spent with Casen were the best times and made him the happiest. Being a Daddy to Casen was his proudest accomplishment.
