EDWARD ALSTON COOPER
1943 - 2022

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Edward Alston Cooper announce his passing at the Carmelite House in Grand Falls-Windsor, NL on July 21, 2022 at the age of 78. Edward retired from FPI as a millwright.
He is predeceased by his son Jason, parents William and Jane, parents-in-law John and Effie; brother Lloyd (Evelyn); sister Blanche (Bill); and brothers-in-law Eric, Ron, and Roy.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife Lucy; son Shawn (Heather); grandsons John, Kenneth, and Eric, and Jennifer Snook; siblings Maude (Ron), Erica (Eric), Mildred, Alice (Stan), Georgina (Doug), Ray (Juanita), Lewis (Barb), and Ron (Dot); siblings-in-law Clayton (Jean), Wayne (Marion), Ada (Roy), Jessie (Albert), and Brenda (Terry); along with a large circle of cherished nieces and nephews.

Edward’s kindness and generous soul has touched the lives of so many people who he was proud to call friends. From his lifelong friends Ralph Priddle, Aubrey Hillier, and Edgar Bonnell to his newly acquired friends at the Golden Years Estate; you have blessed his life as much as he blessed yours. Edward’s strong sense of commitment was followed by action through his work with his church, the Canadian Rangers, the Fortune Fire Brigade, and town council. His sense of humor, meek demeanor, and kindness will be remembered by us all and he will be dearly missed.

Rev. Robin Trevors will conduct the funeral service from Central Funeral Homes Chapel in Grand Falls-Windsor on Monday, July 25, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery in Morrisville. Flowers gratefully accepted by the family or donations may be made in Edward’s memory to a charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kellye Waterman and Renee Fancey of Central Funeral Homes.
