Obituary for Edward Randolph Croucher

November 21st, 1945 - April 9th, 2024

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that the family of the late, Edward Randolph Croucher of Beaumont, NL announce his passing; at the age of 78 years, at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor.

Edward spent many years working as a talented carpenter, often at times alongside his loving twin brother, Alex. He took much pride in his work, he was a perfectionist to say the least.

Edward was also many other things: intelligent, brave, loyal, gentle and quiet. He was also a man of determination and incredible strength, who put up a courageous fight battling many years of sickness. Most importantly, Edward was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather who treasured his family and dearly loved them. They were his world.

Edward leaves to mourn; but also rejoice in his memory: his devoted and loving wife of 48 years, Bettylou Croucher, his precious daughter and light of his life; Amanda Croucher (Mike Atkins), his beautiful granddaughter Brooklyn Wiseman, as well as a wonderful circle of nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Edward is predeceased by his beloved son; Jason Croucher, his twin brother; Alex Croucher, his beautiful sister; Iris Hawkins and his brother; Albert. His loving parents; Daisy and Heber Croucher and his mother and father in-law; Nellie and Raymond Croucher.

The Croucher family extends an heartfelt Thank you to everyone for the outpouring of support and love they’ve received during this difficult time. Thank you to those who delivered meals, sent cards, reached out with phone calls and messages - the family is grateful for your beautiful kindness and it will not be forgotten.

A special thank you to his medical team for their dedication and care throughout the years during his illness, especially the past several weeks. They went above and beyond to provide the utmost care.

Thank you to Ken Goodyear and staff at Central Funeral Homes for their empathy and compassion.

As per Edward’s wishes, cremation has already commenced. A burial and celebration of Edward’s life will be taking place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Lung Association in his memory.
