Obituary for Edward Augustus Dicks
It is with sadness, the family of the late Edward Augustus Dicks announces his passing at the Springdale Hospital on March 18, 2021 at the age of 90.
Edward Augustus Dicks was born to George and Mary Dicks at Little Wards Harbour on December 26, 1930. When Edward was a child, the family moved to South Brook, where he lived most of his life and moved to Springdale during his later years.
A very common sight in South Brook and Springdale was “Uncle Edward” riding his bicycle. He was known by everyone to be a man with a very gentle spirit.
Edward was predeceased by his parents, George and Mary Dicks, brothers, Gilbert and Uriah (Roy), sisters Jessie, Mildred Coombs, Bessie Grant and Irene Heath, step-brothers Merrick, Allan, and Ross, step-sister Aggie Smith.
Left with fond and loving memories are a large number of nieces and nephews, and extended family.
A private funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 21, 2021
