ELIZABETH FORWARD
1932 - 2021
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Elizabeth Forward announce her passing at the A.M. Guy Memorial Health Centre in Buchans, NL on July 18, 2021 at the age of 89. Elizabeth was a loving wife of 70 years to Jack, a caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Elizabeth enjoyed their cabin, camping, the outdoors, and her garden. Her other favorite pastimes were reading, knitting, and embroidery. She is predeceased by her parents, Stan and Annie St. Croix; infant daughter, Alice; sons-in-law, David Greening and Howard Wellman; and brothers, Joe, Peter, and Nicholas. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her husband, John (Jack) Forward Sr.; sons, John Forward Jr. (Sandra) of Buchans, NL, and William Forward (Donna) of Leduc, AB; daughters, Linda Forward of Eastern Passage, NS, Sandra Ivany (William) of Val Caron, ON, Betsy O’Brien (Gerry) of Gander, NL, Barbara Greening of Buchans, NL, and Valerie Forward of Springdale, NL. Also leaving to mourn are her 17 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret; brothers, Frank, Gareth, and Fintan; sisters and brothers-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. Rev. Joan Antle will conduct the funeral service at St. John the Divine Anglican Church in Buchans, NL on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. with interment to follow at the Buchans Community Cemetery. Pallbearers are Simon Bennett, Nicholas Greening, Ben Greening, Gerry O’Brien, Bill Forward, and Jared Rogers. Honorary pallbearer is John Forward Jr. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made in Elizabeth’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Julia Caines of Central Funeral Homes.
