Obituary for Elizabeth Anne "Betty" St. George (Maloney)

Elizabeth Anne (Betty) St. George
Born October 28, 1941 – Feb 23, 2022

It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of Elizabeth Anne (Betty) St. George who passed away peacefully at the Central Regional Health Care Centre on February 23, 2022 at the age of 80 years.

Betty was born and raised in Grand Falls, NL until she married James (Tubby) St. George and shared 60 wonderful years together in Buchans, NL where they raised 5 children.

Betty was such a lover of animals. She fed every stray animal that she encountered. The birds that frequented her yard were her friends and she made sure they were never without food.

Betty is predeceased by her mother, Elsie Maloney (Tilley) and Philip Maloney (Mullowney) and parents-in-law James and Alice (Coombs) St. George, brothers Terry and Roderick and sister Patricia (Denis and nephew Jay) Barrett. Her in-laws Patrick (Florence) St. George, Francis (Henry) Byrne and Madonna Oates.

Leaving to mourn with fond loving memories are her cherished husband and best friend James (Tubby) St. George and her 5 daughters: Kerry (the late Stephan) Adrian, Rosena (Bill) Hartery, Heather Collins (John Evans), Lynn St. George (Jon Sharron) and Anne Marlowe. Her sister Margaret (James) O’Reilly; her sisters-in-law Anne (Mac) Maloney, Sandra Maloney, Margaret (Michel) Dressaire; her cherished grandchildren, Stephan (Gabriella), Leo, Samantha, Tyler, Devin, Tori, Daniel, Courtney and Michaela; her great-granddaughter Sadie and precious fur baby, Zoe; her many nieces and nephews and dear close friends.

The family would like to thank James and Thomasine Marjerrison, for their support and special friendship, the doctors and staff at 2A and ICU at Central Regional Health Care Centre in Grand Falls, NL for the exceptional care provided to wife/mother during her time there.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Elizabeth's memory can be made to the Diabetes Association of Canada.

We would also like to thank all those that have reached out to provide support and kindness to our family during this time.

May you rest in peace until we meet again.
