Obituary for Evelyn Lily Luff

Evelyn Lily Luff was born on October 7, 1945 in Langdon’s Cove to Ernest and Clara Tulk. She was the oldest of nine children. In 1960 she started dating a man from “down over the hill” at Nicky’s Nose Cove and in 1961 she married the love of her life Frederick. Together they had three children: Roxanne, Thresa and Patsy. At a young age she worked by helping her father out in boat, fishing with him to provide for the family. She also worked at the Little Bay Island Crab Plant.

She loved her family very much and especially loved it when they came to visit. She loved to knit, sew, put together puzzles, talk on the phone, put the pot on, doing crossword puzzle books and going fishing.

She leaves to mourn her children Roxanne (Howard), Thresa (Loomas) and Patsy (David); three grandchildren Justin (Jennie), Brittany (Brian) and Alex; 3 great grandchildren; Jaren, Jake and Jaina.

She was predeceased by her husband Frederick, her parents Ernest and Clara, brother Wilbert and sister Marie.

Evelyn was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a kind, loving and caring person. She’s gone home to be with the Lord but will be greatly missed by her family.

Pastor Kerry Northcotte will conduct a celebration of life service at Calvary Pentecostal Church, South Brook on Friday, October 28 at 2 pm; with interment to follow at Jackson’s Cove Interfaith Cemetery. Pallbearers are Alex Anstey, Howard Benson, David Anstey, Albert Tulk, Justin Roberts, Eric Tulk, Loomas Saunders and Cecil Budgell.
