Frances Marguarita Cater (Green)
April 3, 1927 – August 20, 2020
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Frances Cater announce her passing, on August 20, 2020 at the Carmelite House in Grand Falls – Windsor, at the age of 93.
A lifelong resident of Grand Falls – Windsor, Frances graduated from Grand Falls Academy and following high school attended commercial training and began work with the A.N.D. Company. There she met and in 1953 married her loving companion and partner for life, Tommy Cater. They settled in Grand Falls, raised their family, and built a long wonderful life together until Tommy’s passing in 2011. Frances was an active member of the Holy Trinity Anglican church and volunteered her time with organizations including the Girl Guides of Canada and the CNH Auxiliary.
Frances is pre-deceased by her husband G.N. (Tommy) Cater, parents Edward and Daisy Green, brother Edward, sister Dorothy Moore and brothers in law John Moore and Jack Walker. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her sons, Neil (Sheila Fudge) and Robert (Elizabeth), grand daughters Nicole and Stephanie, sister Margaret Walker as well as many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
Respecting concerns with the COVID-19 pandemic, a private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
The family would like to extend special thanks to all who have provided support and especially the staff of the CNRHC, the Dr. Hugh Thomey Health Care Centre, TLC Home Care and the Carmelite House for all kindness and care provided over the past two years.
