November 14, 1948 - October 1, 2021
After a long and courageous battle with Leukemia, Fred passed peacefully away in the Palliative Care Unit of Lakeridge Health Oshawa, under the watchful eye of his loving cousin and friend, Wendy McKelvie Matton. Fred was born in St. John's, NL. to Joe and Joan (Bradshaw) Hennessey. Following his mother's sudden passing when he was three years of age, he moved to Grand Falls and was raised by his grandparents, Joseph and Sarah Hennessey. Upon graduation from university, he moved to Toronto, embracing the city and all of its amenities. Witty and intelligent, Fred was also an engineer, gifted musician, avid reader, baseball fan, trivial pursuit enthusiast, food bank volunteer, and a very proud Newfoundlander. Predeceased by his parents and step-mother Bertha, he is survived by his sister Joanne, half siblings Kevin and Karen, and their families. He will be dearly missed by close friends, numerous cousins, and family. Cremation has taken place with interment at a later date, at the Union Street Interfaith Cemetery in Grand Falls Windsor, NL.
