Obituary for Frederick Joseph O'Dell

FREDERICK JOSEPH O’DELL
1952 – 2020

It is with deep sadness that I announce the passing of my beloved husband of thirty-seven years; Mr. Frederick Joseph O’Dell. He was sixty-seven years of age. Left with an abundance of wonderful memories are his wife Cathy, sister Sheila (Larry) House, brother Jerome (Lucy), in-laws Bill and Shirley Wall, Tom and Joyce Power, John and Joan Walker, Harold and Carol Ann Hynes, and David Power.

Predeceased by his parents Cyril and Minnie O’Dell, and brothers Gordon, Luke, Leo, Cecil, and Clarence, as well as in-laws Thomas and Myrtle Power and Bruce.

He was blessed to have a dear friend Dan Maynard, who called to check on him each day. He was privileged to have had two wonderful doctors to help with his journey; Dr. Teri Stuckless and Dr. Samuel Ralph. He was also blessed to have had his niece Kelly along with her daughter Renee to take exceptional care of him.

Fred possessed all the traits that compose a good human being. He loved life and fought so hard to keep it. He had a deep faith and loved to attend church. He dearly loved his family, Labrador and his white Dodge pick-up truck. He managed a Rental Shop for over thirty years where he was well respected and gathered many loyal customers and friends.

He was a talented artist and his paintings are displayed in our home. Fred was a faithful member of the early bird McDonald’s Coffee Club, where he loved to argue, especially about sports and politics.

His strength and courage defined him and his mere presence will be missed by many in this world.

Until we meet again my love, you will always remain in my heart! Love you always!
- Cathy

A private celebration of Fred’s life will be held on Saturday at Central Funeral Homes Chapel. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Michael Goodyear of Central Funeral Homes.
