Obituary for George William Gerald Warr

GEORGE WARR March 5, 1929- January 19, 2021
Gerald William George Warr passed away peacefully at the Green Bay Health Centre on January 19th at the age of 91.
He was predeceased by his loving wife Edna (Locke), his parents Genevra (Smith) and Reginald Warr, his sisters Phyllis (Dixon) and Marjorie (Billard), brother Kevin, brother-in-law Roy Billard and sister-in-law Hazel (Pittman)
George leaves to mourn brother Garnet (June), sister Ada (Jack), special niece Dianne (Brett), surrogate grandchildren Christopher (Rebecca), Michael (Caro) and his dear adopted family Pauline (Don), Carolyn (Ted), Rennie, Garnet (Suzanne), Robert, Patricia, Steven (Christine) and a large circle of relatives and friends.
In the 1950s, George a graduate in Commerce from Dalhousie University returned home to enter the family business. Over the years he was a community minded person with a wide involvement in local organizations. He was a former mayor and councilor. He was a charter member of the Lions Club and the AOTS Men’s Club of Grace United. For 60 years he served as a member of Notre Dame #6 Masonic Lodge receiving a Meritorious Certificate for his service.
George resided at Kingsway Retirement Home for two years. Thank you to the staff and friends there for their care and consideration. Special thanks to Dr. Young and the entire staff at Green Bay Health Care Centre where he spent his final days.
Because of Covid restrictions a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
