1943-2021

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gerald Lloyd Thompson announce his passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor, NL on February 10, 2021 at the age of 78. Gerald was a member of the Memorial United Church and Lodge Northcliffe and Executive Director of the Exploits Regional Chamber of Commerce. He is predeceased by parents, Lloyd Thompson and Lillian (Gill) Thompson; and grandson, Kristian Loveless. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Ruth (Pelley) Thompson; sons, Wayde Thompson (Marlene) of Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, Peter Thompson (Dana) of Mount Pearl, NL, and Jim Thompson (Noelle) of CBS, NL; and daughter, Kellie Loveless (Todd) of Paradise, NL. Also leaving to mourn are his brothers, Allan (Muriel) Thompson; Harold (Phyllis) Thompson, Wayne (Trula) Thompson, and Desmond (Shirley) Thompson; sister, Barbara Budgell (Arch Rowsell); sisters-in-law, Carol Hancock (Ford) and Judy Mercer (Bill); grandchildren, Nicole Janes, Natasha Bartlett, Megan Thompson, Adam Thompson, Leah Thompson, Summer-Dawn Parsons, Savannah King, Noah Thompson, Lilly Thompson, Jonathon Loveless, Nathan Loveless, Erica Loveless, Kameron Loveless, and Racheal Loveless; and 7 great-grandchildren. Rev. Kim Waite will conduct the funeral service at the Memorial United Church on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jim Maidment of Central Funeral Homes. Flowers gratefully accepted by the family or donations may be made in his memory to the Masonic Lodge Northcliffe or the Memorial United Church.
