Obituary for Gordon James Hart

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gordon James Hart announce his passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre in Grand Falls- Windsor on April 9, 2024 at the age of 84. Gordon worked for many years with Robinson Blackmore before starting his own business, Hart’s Ultramar on Main Street. In his retirement Gord enjoyed spending time with family and friends at his home or his cabin in Charles Brook, he loved to be surrounded by guests and enjoyed cooking Sunday dinners to be shared with a large crowd of family. He loved to fish and spent many days in his boat sharing his love of the water with his children and grandchildren.

Gordon is predeceased by his wife Norma Hart (Braye), son David, brother Alex, parents Maxwell and Mabel Hart, and son-in-law Rev. Tim Graham.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his sons Ron Hart (Debbie) of Badger, and Sean Hart (Roz Lewis) of Grand Falls- Windsor; daughters Rev. Cindy Graham, Michelle Lane (Rick), and Judy Grouchy (Phil) of Grand Falls-Windsor, and Lisa Fowler (Robert) of Paradise, NL.

Also leaving to mourn are his 16 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law Pansy Hart, June Shantz, Diane Dancey, Glenda (Dave) Sampson, Brother-in-law John (Sharon) Braye, and a large circle of loved ones and friends. Also left to mourn is a special friend Belle Bursey.

Rev. Robin Trevors will conduct the funeral service at St. Albans Anglican Church on Friday, April 12, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow at St. Albans Anglican Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Renee Fancey of Central Funeral Homes.
