Obituary for Harold Chesley Newbury
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our wonderful husband, father, grandfather and brother, Harold Newbury of King’s Point on February 7th, 2023 at Green Bay Health Centre at the age of 77.
Harold worked at Abitibi Consolidated his whole life and after retirement he enjoyed his time “up on the drop” cutting his fire wood and being a member of the Town Council of King’s Point. But what he lived for most was when his grandkids would come visit.
Harold was predeceased by his parents, Cecil & Elise Newbury and Brother in law, Carl Tilley.
He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife, Rhenie Newbury, sons Trevor (Jill) of Middle Sackville, NS, Grant (Robin) of Katy Texas, USA and Daughter Nicole of King’s Point, NL.
He also leaves to mourn his grandchildren Brett Newbury, Peyton Newbury and Ethan Newbury as well as his sister Violet Tilley, Nieces Linda (John), Jackie (Marty) and Connie (Aaron) along with many other extended family and friends.
The family would like to extend our sincere thanks for the great care we received from the staff of Green Bay Health Centre and Horwood’s Home Care. Special thanks to Michelle (Shelley) Caines for her love and support. Thanks also to Ken and his staff at Central Funeral Homes for making this difficult time easier to navigate.
Major Roxanne Randell will conduct the funeral service at Springdale Central Funeral Home on Saturday, February 11 with interment at King’s Point Interfaith Cemetery.
