It is with great sadness that the family of the late Hazel Mae Weir announces her passing at the Green Bay Health Centre in Springdale on December 19, 2022 at the age of 84. Hazel was born in Harry’s Harbour but later moved to Little Bay Islands where she spent most of her life and raised her children before moving to Springdale in 2018.

She was predeceased by her husband, Gordon and her brothers, Bob Penney, Walt Penney, Jim Penney, Neil Penney, Eric Wiseman and Willie Wiseman; her sisters, Vivian Oxford and Marilyn Kidd.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her sons Walter (Debbie) of Islay, AB, Christopher (Gladys) of Glovertown, NL, Rex (Mary-Ann) of Grand Falls- Windsor, NL and Clarey (Darlene) of Lewisporte, NL.

Hazel also leaves to mourn her sister Bernice Andrews, her Grandchildren, Noah, Leah, Zoe, Preston, C.J., Sebastian and Special Friend Juanita Hull.

Majors Joshua & Pauline Randell will conduct the funeral service at the Springdale Salvation Army Citadel on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at 11 AM, with interment to follow at the Salvation Army Cemetery. Pallbearers are Christopher Weir, Rex Weir, Clarey Weir, Noah Weir, Dean Weir and Dion Weir.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear and Michele Janes of Central Funeral Homes.
